Yard Project

So, we decided to overhaul the front yard area this spring. We yanked the semi-raised beds that served as the garden, tore down all the funky fence and T posts, and started dreaming. We decided to develop a fire pit/patio area and install a few rock walls. First, we started the "flat" rock collection from various sites in the area. The 'Yoter springs were put to the test!

Then, the digging started. So, we collected flat rock and dug up boulders. Needless to say, we dug more rock than we collected, so the yard now has a border of smallish boulders and this big hole just over the hill is filled. So much for Ginger's digging for mice!

So, once we figured that we had dug most of the rock from the garden area, we rented a tiller. The garden will be in quite a bit later than last year, but this spring has definitely been cooler.

Yes, that's snow you see! There was this fierce thunder and bright lightning, and next thing you know, it was snowing. We took the afternoon off.

You guys ever get out to Ohio? I have a yard that could DEFINITELY benefit from your kind of energy! Wow. I think I'll just plant groundcover that doesn't need mowing on the big hill at the front of our property... right now we (Ha! BILL!) has to attach a rope to the mower and pull it back and forth!
