Culverts with minimal flows don't accomodate floating a tape through so easily. If the culvert is big enough, we crawl through. Close your mouth and keep your head low!

Little Slate Creek
This summer has consisted of field work and more field work! I have been working on a project in the Slate Creek watershed surveying road/trail crossing (culverts, fords, etc) to determine which ones are a barrier for fish and other aquatics passage. It has been great to be working in the mountains and the wildlife sightings have been good as well. To date, this includes: lynx, bobcat, bear, elk, moose, deer, badger, and turkey.

Wadered up!
