Michigan

We traveled to the great state of Michigan at the end of September to visit the Hendrix folks. We explored the beaches of Lake Michigan, toured the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes Clampett style, and visited some special sites.

Granny Sal, Grandpa Jer, and Seth admiring Lake Michigan on a stormy day.

Uncle Kim flew down in the Tomahawk for the day and humored us with his business propositions!
Sorry we missed you, Candy....
Aunt Toni and Uncle Mark at the beach en route to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes.
Uncle Mark and Aunt Carol cooked up a mean bowl of chili and cornbread that evening.

Hendrix Hooligans at their finest!

The tree that was planted in memory of Allen at the American Legion near Manistee.

The stone for Allen at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee. As a boy, he played on the cannon in the forground and the sand dunes just beyond the cemetery boundary.

We were glad to see Tom and Savanna and help Aldan celebrate his first birthday!

Is that a photo of D. Nunn?! Shocking!! We ran into these friendly folk while walking the pier before the backyard festivities.

The matriarchs...as they called themselves! Uncle Sonny refused to join these fine ladies.

The charming cabin in the Michigan woods...where memories were forever made.
(Who thought Rambo would be shot out of a tree stand??! )
Uncle Mark won this gorgeous canoe in a raffle and was generous enough to provide us the boat and shuttle service for a beautiful paddle on the Big Manistee River.

Enjoying the sunshine!
