So close, Oak!
Not so many days ago, we thought Ginger was going to depart shortly for where ever it is that dead dogs go! She was yelping in pain, eyes big as saucers, wouldn't move, and didn't even like being pet. She ate or drank but only as long as we brought bread or yogurt to her. Of course this was Sunday night, so the next morning we loaded her up in the car with the intent to visit the vet ASAP. We were lucky enough to get an early morning appointment. As soon as we arrived, Ginger proceeded to carry on at the other dogs on the premises, bounded out of the car to sniff around the yard in search of the perfect place to use the facilities, and then happily joined the vet in the exam room. No fever, no sign of poor health, no yelping in pain, absolutely nothing out of the ordinary! The vet suggested that she was either developing arthritis (apparently she hasn't met Ginger before!) or she ate something that bound up in her stomach. So the options were: enema, blood work, or xrays. Mind you, the options included sending us home with the tools to do the enema ourselves...after finding out that it was a mere $25, we opted to leave Ginger at the vet for the afternoon so they could have the honors and she would get her shots updated meanwhile. So the moral of the story is that our trickster hound hasn't felt better since and we have no idea what was the matter with her!

:) What can we say? Vets ask for there position so we might as well let them have it.
